Hi there!
I'm Jessica (she/her), but you can call me Jess.
I'm a Canadian Certified Counsellor (C.C.C.) and I hold a B.A. in Psychology, an Advanced Diploma in Behavioral Interventions, and a M.A. in Counselling Psychology.

In sessions, you can expect the space to talk out everything and anything, nervous system regulation tools, exploration of all the parts of yourself, and to walk away feeling like yourself again (or the new version of you). Hopefully there will be a laugh or two, and a swear word or two in there as well.
My goal is to provide a space where you can feel comfortable showing up exactly as you are; a space where all emotions and thoughts can exist. My practice is person-centered, trauma informed, and culturally sensitive. I’m allied with the 2SLGBTQ+ community, disabled community and non-monogamous community.
A little about me, I have two fur babies, Daniel and Tink (yes, I do want to see pictures of all your pets). I was a competitive figure skater for 13 years, and I am still involved in the sport today. I'm a book dragon, and I'm never without a book (yes, I do want to hear about your current read and see your bookshelf).

I look forward to working with you!
- Your sidekick, Jess

-
Are you the right therapist for me?If you are unsure if I am the right fit for you, you can book a free 15 minute consultation by clicking the 'book a session' button, answering the quiz below, or sending me a message in the 'quick contact' box.
-
What types of modalities do you use?A little bit of everything! For the most part, I work through the lens of Polyvagal Theory (nervous system regulation) and Internal Family Systems (learning about all the different parts of you). This means that we are going to teach your body that an email is just an email, and not a tiger chasing you, while learning about your inner critics.

What ages do you support?I support folks aged 12 and up. I have a passion for supporting teenagers and young adults, however I welcome all ages (12+). Parents, please note that even with your consent, if your child does not want to attend therapy, I will not be able to support them. Minors have the same rights to confidentiality as adults, I will not share details about your child's session with you, unless there is concern for their safety, or unless your child has given me permission.
